Confessions of a terrible baby-booker

As you all know I have two children.  Only one of them has a baby book - said baby book has been neglected.  Child #2 does not even have a baby book.  Poor sweet baby girl who is no longer a baby - she's 18 months!

I am sad about this and am working to record milestones and memories that we make with both of the children and hope to use this blog and other methods to do so.

Here are a few notes about Taylor K (Taypot, Tay-tay, Tater):

*She was almost born in the car - but not.  She was born in the hospital after one big push.  Excellent.

*From the beginning she was not an excellent sleeper as her brother was.  She was over a year until she slept decently through the night and no, I did not let her "cry it out."  Tried that...I enjoy sleep too much.  And now, she sleeps fine :)

*TK has never enjoyed being confined, even now at 18  months she would prefer to eat a bite of food and run around the house. We, however, do not permit that so sitting down to eat dinner is something we are working on. She's a mover and a shaker - I think I've said that before.

*After I got done with my fantastic maternity leave Taylor stayed with a number of different people while I worked during the day.  She adjusted so well each day to her different caregivers and started to come to school with me at the ripe old age of 7 months.

*She seemed to follow the same progression as her brother, sitting up around 6 months, crawling at 7 months, climbing stairs and walking at 10, climbing stairs and running shortly thereafter.  Taylor still climbs up and on everything!

*Every day she impresses us with her vocabulary. She will attempt to repeat every word that we say (within reason) and really gets upset when I don't give her any more "eerios."  Her 5 year old cousin loves to encourage her vocabulary by getting her to say words like - "poop," "pee," & "potty."  She can say all three!

*Her ability to follow verbal directions is amazing!

Taylor has the sweetest smile.  She calls her brother "Bubba."  Hugs and kisses from her family are her favorite.  She loves to be tickled.  Taylor loves macaroni and cheese, avocado, and strawberries.  When her brother has something or is doing something, she wants to do it too.  She loves animals.

I certainly can't say enough good things about our sweet little girl.  More to come, I'm sure.

Maybe tomorrow next year I'll blog about vacation.

Taylor did not care for her 1st birthday celebration!

  1. YOU HAVE A BLOG?!? How did I not know this? Or did I but it was just so long that I forgot? Hmm, I'll be reading now! It's SUCH a good way to record memories - we use www.blog2print.com to print out each year's posts in an awesome hardback book. Will love having these someday!
